Springbank Aero Offers the Following Flight Training:

Recreational License, Private License, Commercial License, VFR OTT, Night Rating, More

 

 

Recreational License  

 

Requirements:

          25 hours total in-flight supervised training including:ncluding:ncluding:

                   15 hours of dual instruction

                   5 hours of supervised solo flight time

 

No ground school is required, but we do highly recommend our private pilot ground training

 

With a Recreational license you can:

 

·         Fly a singe-engine, non high-performance aircraft

·         Carry ONE passenger only

·         Act as pilot-in-command of an ultra-light airplane

 

 

Private License

Top

 

Requirements:

          45 hours in-flight training including:

                   17 hours of dual instruction

                   12 hours of supervised solo flight time

          40 hours classroom instruction

 

With a Private license you can:

 

      Exercise all the privileges of a recreational license

·         Act as pilot-in-command OR co-pilot

·         No passenger restrictions

·         No restrictions on aircraft type*

 

*Additional training may be required depending on the type of aircraft

 

 

Commercial License

Requirements:

          A Private Pilot License

200 hours total time including:

100 hours pilot-in-command including;     

                   30 hours supervised pilot-in-command time

35 hours dual instruction

          80 hours classroom/supervised instruction

 

With a Commercial license you can:

·         Exercise all the privileges of a Private license
·         Exercise the privileges of a VFR OTT rating (Described below)
·         Get work as a pilot!

 

VFR Over the Top (VFR OTT) Rating

Requirements:

15 hours of dual instrument instruction*

 

*5 hours of instrument time can be completed on a simulator

 

With this rating you can:

·         Fly above or between cloud layers

Note: A VFR OTT rating can not be added to a Recreational license

 

 

Night Rating

Requirements:

          20 hours of night flight time including:

                   5 hours of dual flight time

                   5 hours of supervised solo time

                   10 hours of dual instrument time*

          *5 hours of instrument time can be completed on an approved simulator

 

With this rating you can:

·      Fly at night

 Note: A night rating can not be added to a Recreational license

 

 

Instrument Rating

Requirements:

50 hours of cross-country flight as pilot-in-command
40 hours of instrument time*

*20 hours may be completed on an approved simulator

 

With this rating you can

·     Fly in cloud in an IFR (instrument flight rules) certified plane

 

Mountain Flying Course

 

3 hours dual
3 hours of ground school

 

A mountain checkout is not required by Transport Canada however, it is strongly recommended for those wishing to fly in the mountains.
